Training is one of the most important functions of the modern fire department. Over the years the Fire and Medical Services have become more mentally challenging and the demands for knowledge by firefighters have steadily increased. To combat these challenges, Cornelia Fire Department focuses on training. All fire personnel are required to have 240 hours of training each year. This refresher makes firefighters learn new techniques and skills as well as hone pre-existing ones.
