Consumer Confidence Report

Community Development

Currently the department is proud to announce the adoption of the Urban Redevelopment Plan. This plan will be the blueprint for the city’s Redevelopment Efforts. The plan will address the blight, dilapidated, and vacant housing in older neighborhoods in Cornelia. View the entire plan at: Redevelopment Plan.

Neighborhood Stabilization Program

The department is also happy to announce its plans for participation in the Neighborhood Stabilization Program, funded through Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and the Georgia Department of Community Affairs. View the Neighborhood Stabilization Program Substantial Amendment (PDF).

Georgia Intiative Community Housing

Our department is also working towards becoming a Georgia Initiative for Community Housing (GICH) community. Becoming a GICH community is very important to the redevelopment planning process and is something the department is excited about. GICH is designed to build community-wide consensus concerning housing and redevelopment endeavors, through public-private partnerships and a cross sector housing team made up of:

  • Developers
  • Financial professionals
  • Local public officials
  • Neighborhood leaders
  • Real estate professionals
