In this new program, we focus on each student’s personal and artistic growth. Through the art of theatre, we foster the development of social skills, self-confidence, teamwork, commitment, empathy, and the courage to take risks in a safe environment. In addition to teaching the basics of theatre technique such as vocal projection, stage movement, knowledge of theatrical vocabulary, and character development, Main Street Arts fosters the kind of creative ownership that can only come from treating each participant as a young artist with an important and unique artistic voice. Students, grades 4-8, have the opportunity to work with professional teaching artists who encourage exploration and teach theatre fundamentals to the interests and abilities of each student. Whether your student has years of experience or is investigating theatre for the first time, Main Street Arts will offer a meaningful and joyful learning experience.
