Nestled in the Northeast Georgia Mountains, the City of Cornelia Fire Department has been a pillar of safety since its founding in 1887. Today, we are proud to be an ISO Class 3 department operating out of two strategic locations: our Downtown station and our station off Highway 441 in the Habersham Village shopping center.
Our force consists of 19 dedicated members, comprising both career and volunteer firefighters, who work together to ensure the safety of our citizens.
Our Capabilities & Fleet CFD provides comprehensive first response services, including:
Technical Rescue
To support these missions, the department houses a robust fleet including four engines, a ladder truck, a brush truck, a rescue truck, and a specialized fire safety house/command post.
As a Brotherhood and Family, we will at all times serve our Community with due diligence, recognizing the privilege we have been given to do so. We demonstrate Integrity, Professional Excellence, Fortitude, and Perseverance while honoring our Oath with Compassion.
The Cornelia Fire Department strives to positively impact our community and the members of our organization by placing the needs of others before self, without judgment or thought of reward.
