The Cornelia Police Department has a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) approved child seat inspection station open Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. If a parent needs to come after hours arrangements can be made. The National Certified Child Seat Technicians are available to assist parents who wish to have their seats inspected free of charge. Classes can also be arranged for groups needing education on child seat safety.
The “Seats for Tots” program is a partnership with the Cornelia Police Department and the Habersham County Health Department. The program provides child seats and education to families who are unable to afford them. This class is held on 4th Wednesday of every month from 1-3pm at the North Fire Station, next to the Burger King in Cornelia.
